Overview

Scenarios

Direct Connect establishes dedicated, secure, stable, and high-speed network connections between your on-premises data centers and VPCs. You can attach Direct Connect global DC gateways to enterprise routers to build a large-scale hybrid cloud network globally.

The following describes how to use Enterprise Router and Direct Connect to connect on-premises networks in the same region.

Architecture

An enterprise deployed services in two on-premises data centers in the same region. To quickly connect the two on-premises networks in the same region, you need to:
  1. Create an enterprise router in region A.
  2. Connect IDC-A to the enterprise router through Direct Connect connection DC-A (global DC gateway). Connect IDC-B to the enterprise router through Direct Connect connection DC-B (global DC gateway).

With an enterprise router, the enterprise can quickly connect different on-premises networks to meet service requirements.

Advantages

An enterprise router can connect multiple on-premises networks.

Constraints

  • The CIDR blocks of the VPCs and of the on-premises data centers cannot overlap.
  • The ASNs of on-premises data centers, global DC gateways, and enterprise routers must all be unique.
  • If you want to use an enterprise router to connect two on-premises data centers, ensure that the two on-premises data centers are connected to different Direct Connect gateways. You can submit a service ticket to contact customer service to learn more.
