Deleting a Subnet
Scenarios
You can delete a subnet to release network resources if the subnet is no longer required.
The entry to visit the subnet module varies by region.
- If the subnet module is not decoupled from the VPC module in your selected region, you have to visit the subnet module by clicking the Subnets tab on the VPC details page. This is used as the example of the operation procedure in this section.
- If the subnet module is decoupled from the VPC module in your selected region, you can visit the subnet module directly after you click Subnets on the navigation pane of the VPC console.
Prerequisites
Before deleting a subnet, ensure that any of the following resources using the subnet have been deleted.
You can view all resources of your account on the console homepage and check the resources that are in the subnet to be deleted. You must delete all resources in the subnet before deleting the subnet.
The resources may include:
- ECS
- BMS
- CCE cluster
- CCI instance
- RDS instance
- Workspace desktop
- MRS cluster
- DCS instance
- Load balancer
- VPN
- Private IP address
- Custom route
- NAT gateway
- VPC endpoint and VPC endpoint service
If a subnet still cannot be deleted after resources in the subnet are deleted, submit a service ticket.
Procedure
- Log in to the management console.
- Click
in the upper left corner and select the desired region and project. - On the console homepage, under Network, click Virtual Private Cloud.
- In the navigation pane on the left, click Virtual Private Cloud.
- On the Virtual Private Cloud page, locate the VPC from which a subnet is to be deleted and click the VPC name.
- On the Subnets page, locate the target subnet and click Delete.
- Click Yes in the displayed dialog box.
