Releasing a Virtual IP Address
Scenarios
If you no longer need a virtual IP address or a reserved virtual IP address, you can release it to avoid wasting resources.
You can perform operations on virtual IP addresses through the subnet module. However, the entry to visit the subnet module varies by region.
- If the subnet module is not decoupled from the VPC module in your selected region, you have to visit the subnet module by clicking the Subnets tab on the VPC details page.
- If the subnet module is decoupled from the VPC module in your selected region, you can visit the subnet module directly after you click Subnets on the navigation pane of the VPC console.
Prerequisites
Before deleting a virtual IP address, ensure that the virtual IP address has been unbound from the following resources:
- ECS
- EIP
- CCE cluster
Procedure
- Log in to the management console.
- Click
in the upper left corner and select the desired region and project. - On the console homepage, under Network, click Virtual Private Cloud.
- In the navigation pane on the left, click Virtual Private Cloud.
- On the Virtual Private Cloud page, locate the VPC containing the subnet from which a virtual IP address is to be released, and click the VPC name.
- On the Subnets tab, click the name of the subnet from which a virtual IP address is to be released.
- Click the Virtual IP Addresses tab, locate the row that contains the virtual IP address to be released, click More in the Operation column, and select Release.
- In the navigation pane on the left, click Subnets.
- In the subnet list, click the name of the subnet that the virtual IP address belongs to.
- Click the IP Addresses tab, locate the row that contains the virtual IP address to be released, click More in the Operation column, and select Release. Figure 2 Releasing a virtual IP address
- Click Yes in the displayed dialog box.
