Creating a Layer 2 Connection
Scenarios
To enable Layer 2 communications between ECSs in a VPC and your data center subnet, you need to create a Layer 2 connection for your L2CG.
L2CGs are currently available for open beta test in CN East-Shanghai1 and CN South-Guangzhou. You can use this function after obtaining the open beta test permissions.
Prerequisites
A L2CG has been created successfully.
Procedure
- Log in to the management console.
- Click
in the upper left corner and select the desired region and project. - On the console homepage, under Network, click Virtual Private Cloud.
- In the navigation pane on the left, click Layer 2 Connection Gateway.
- On the displayed page, click the name of the target L2CG.
- On the right of the Layer 2 Connection Gateway page, click Create Connection. Figure 1 Create Connection
- Set the parameters as prompted. For details, see Table 1.

Specifies the subnet used for communication between the cloud and data center at a Layer 2 network.

Specifies the IP address of L2CG interface that the VPC subnet is connected to. The IP address can be automatically assigned or manually specified.

Tunnel VNI
Specifies the VXLAN tunnel ID required by a data center to connect to a L2CG, similar to the VLAN network identifier, which is used to uniquely identify the VXLAN

Tunnel IP Address
Specifies the IP address of the VXLAN tunnel for the data center to connect to the L2CG.

Tunnel Port
Specifies the port of the VXLAN tunnel for the data center to connect to the L2CG. The default port is 4789.

Specifies the Layer 2 connection name.

- After confirming that the parameters are correct, click Create.
This operation takes 20 to 60 seconds to complete.
- View the connection status on the Layer 2 Connection Gateway page.
If the status is Not connected or Connected, the Layer 2 connection has been successfully created.
