Direct Reading Configuration
Direct reading allows objects in the Archive storage class to be directly accessed without being restored in advance. If you download or copy an Archive object, you will be charged for the data read traffic. For details, see Product Pricing Details.
You can enable direct reading for a bucket upon its creation. For details, see Creating a Bucket. Alternatively, you can enable the direct reading function for a created bucket according to the following procedure:
The direct reading function is now available in the following regions: CN North-Beijing1, CN North-Beijing4, CN East-Shanghai1, CN East-Shanghai2, CN South-Guangzhou, and CN Southwest-Guiyang1.
Procedure
- In the navigation pane on the left of OBS Console, choose Object Storage.
- In the bucket list, click a bucket name, and then the Overview page of the bucket is displayed.
- In the Basic Configurations area, click the Direct Reading card. The Direct Reading dialog box is displayed.
- Select Enable. Figure 1 Enabling direct reading.
- Click OK.
