Scaling Up Storage Space
Scenarios
You can scale up storage space of yearly/monthly DB instances if it is no longer sufficient for your requirements. If you do not scale up storage space, you will be billed in pay-per-use mode for the additional storage. If you scale up storage space, you will be billed in yearly/monthly mode for the additional storage. During the scaling-up period, services are not interrupted, and backup services are not affected.
Constraints
- Only yearly/monthly DB instances support storage scaling-up.
- DB instances can be scaled up numerous times.
- You cannot reboot or delete a DB instance that is being scaled up.
- Storage space can only be scaled up, not down.
Procedure
- Log in to the management console.
- Click
in the upper left corner and select a region and a project. - Click Service List. Under Database, click GaussDB.
- On the Instance Management page, locate the target DB instance and choose More > Scale Storage Space in the Operation column.
Alternatively, click the target DB instance to go to the Basic Information page. In the Storage/Backup Space area, click Scale, as shown in Figure 1.
- On the displayed page, specify the new storage space and click Next.
The storage space grows in 10 GB increments up to 128,000 GB.
- Confirm your specifications.
- If you need to modify your settings, click Previous.
- If you do not need to modify your settings, click Submit to go to the payment page and complete the payment.
- View the scale-up result.
On the Instance Management page, click the target DB instance. On the displayed Basic Information page, verify that the scale-up is successful.
