Billing Items

When using CS, you are billed for stream processing units (SPUs) that you select for your created jobs and exclusive clusters.

You can evaluate your desired SPU processing performance according to the following SPU performance specifications:

  • For simple computing using simple operators such as filter and map, a single SPU can process about 2,000 messages per second, with each message having a size of 1–4 KB.
  • For complex computing using simple operators such as window functions, user-defined functions (UDFs), and aggregate functions, a single SPU can process about 1,000 messages per second, with each message having a size of 1–4 KB.

The preceding SPU performance specifications do not involve the source/sink operators of the job. This is because the data sources and output targets are different in performance, for example, HBase, Kafka, HDFS, and MySQL.

SPU
  • An SPU contains one core and 4 GB memory.
  • You are billed for the SPUs you select for your job or exclusive cluster.
  • You are billed for the SPUs you select for your job at hourly rates.
  • For an exclusive cluster, you are billed for SPUs selected for three management nodes at hourly rates. By default, two SPUs are selected for one management node, and six for three management nodes. You are billed for jobs running on exclusive clusters according to the job billing rules.
  • You are billed for your selected SPUs on a pay-per-use (hourly) or yearly/monthly basis.

  1. The prices mentioned in the tables above assume that you select one SPU. If you select multiple SPUs, you are advised to buy the corresponding number of packages at a time.
  2. Effective hourly pricing per month = Monthly prepayment/Number of hours per month (750 hours); Effective hourly pricing per year = Yearly prepayment/Number of hours per year (750 x 12)
  3. Only exclusive clusters can be billed on a yearly/monthly basis.
