What Is the Sequence of Using Resource Packages with the Same Attributes?

Use Sequence

If there are multiple resource packages with the same attributes, they will be used in the order of earliest to latest effective time and expiration time.

Example

Scenario

A customer purchases two standard storage packages (multi-AZ) in region CN North-Beijing4.

  • Package A (100 GB) takes effect on October 1, 2020 and is valid for two months (expires on December 1, 2020).
  • Resource package B (500 GB) takes effect on October 10, 2020 and is valid for two months (expires on December 10, 2020).

Use Sequence

From Oct. 1 to Oct. 9

Package A is used.

If the used Standard storage space exceeds 100 GB, the customer will be billed for subsequent usage on a pay-per-use basis.

From Oct. 10 to Nov. 30

Both packages A and B are used.

Package A is used first. If the usage exceeds 100 GB, package B is used to offset subsequent usage. When package B's quota (600 GB) is used up, the customer will be billed on a pay-per-use basis.

From Dec. 1 to Dec. 9

Package A is expired. Only package B is used.

The customer is billed on a pay-per-use basis for subsequent usage when package B's quota (500 GB) is used up.

From Dec. 10 on

Both packages A and B are expired. The customer is billed on a pay-per-use basis.
