Does Recording Charge?
Live video can be recorded to Object Storage Service (OBS) or Video on Demand (VOD). OBS and VOD charge you differently.
- Recording to OBS: Recordings are stored in OBS buckets. OBS charges you for the storage. For details about the storage price, see OBS Pricing Details. If you authorize VOD to access the OBS bucket where the recording files are stored, you can process these recording files using functions provided in VOD. VOD charges you for any processing.
- Recording to VOD: Recordings are stored in VOD and storage is billed by VOD. For details, see VOD Pricing Details. If you select Transcoding Format when configuring a recording template, VOD will convert the format of recordings to the desired one. If multiple formats are selected, you are billed for multiple outputs.
