How Many Recordings Are Created for a Live Recording Task?

When configuring a recording template, you need to set the recording length. During live streaming, recording files are generated based on the length of a live stream and recording length.

  • Recording to OBS:
    • If the length of a live stream is shorter than the recording length and the stream is not interrupted, only one recording file is created.
    • If the length of a live stream is shorter than the recording length but the stream is interrupted, recording files are created as follows:
      • If Maximum Stream Pause Length is set to Do not generate a new file after a stream is paused. or the maximum stream pause length has not been reached, only one recording file is created.
      • If Maximum Stream Pause Length is set to Generate a new file after a stream is paused., a new recording file is created upon each pause.
    • If the length of a live stream is longer than the recording length, a new recording file is created every time when the recording length arrives.
  • Recording to VOD:
    • If the length of a live stream is shorter than the recording length and the stream is not interrupted, only one recording file is created.
    • If the length of a live stream is longer than the recording length, a new recording file is created every time when the recording length arrives.
    • If a live stream is paused for several times, a new recording file is created upon each pause.
