Can ELB Distribute Traffic Across Servers That Are Not Provided by HUAWEI CLOUD?

  • For Shared load balancers, backend servers can only be cloud servers from HUAWEI CLOUD. For more information, see Backend Servers.
  • You can add servers in a peer VPC, in a VPC that is in another region and connected through a cloud connection, or in an on-premises data center at the other end of a Direct Connect or VPN connection, by using their IP addresses.
  • Database instances cannot be used as backend servers.
  • Backend servers cannot work in active/standby mode. It is recommended that you bind virtual IP addresses to backend servers for HA.
