What Should I Do If I See Garbled Chinese Characters in an Exported CSV File?

You can export the Cloud Eye monitoring data into a CSV file, but when you open this file with Excel, there may be garbled Chinese characters. This is because the exported CSV file is encoded in UTF-8 while Excel is opened in the ANSI format. To solve this problem, use either of the following solutions:

  • Use a text editor such as NotePad or use WPS to open the exported CSV file.
  • When you open the CSV file, set Excel as follows:
  1. Create an EXCEL file.
  2. Choose Data > From Text.
  3. Select the exported monitoring data file in CSV format and click Import.

The Text Import Wizard dialog box is displayed.

  4. Select Delimited and click Next.
  5. Deselect Tab, select Comma, and click Next.
  6. Click Finish.
  7. In the Import Data dialog box, click OK.
