Migrating Through the CDM Service

With CDM, you can seamlessly migrate data from third-party object storage services to HUAWEI CLOUD OBS.

  1. Creating an OBS bucket

    Create a bucket on OBS Console or OBS Browser+ for storing data.

  2. Purchasing CDM

    Purchase the CDM service. Specifically, create a CDM cluster and bind an EIP to the cluster to manage connections and jobs.

  3. Configuring links and jobs
    1. In the CDM cluster, create a source link that uses a third-party service vendor as the source and a destination link that uses OBS as the destination. For details about link creation, see Creating Links.
    2. Create a CDM job to migrate data from the third-party vendor to OBS.
  4. Starting data migration

    Run the CDM job to start data migration. You can view the job progress on the job management page.
