Creating and Configuring a CCE Cluster
O&M personnel create a CCE cluster and configure related resources. For details, see Buying a CCE Cluster.
Table 1 compares the features provided by ACK and CCE and gives configuration recommendations on CCE resources involved in the migration.
| Feature | Specifications | Alibaba Cloud ACK Configurations | Recommended HUAWEI CLOUD CCE Configurations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cluster | Cluster type | ACK Pro | CCE cluster (hybrid deployment of VMs and BMSs, and hybrid deployment of heterogeneous nodes such as GPU-enabled and NPU-enabled nodes) |
| Kubernetes version | 1.18 | 1.17 | |
| 1.20 | 1.19 | ||
| Network | Flannel (network policy not supported) | Choose the network type based on the live environment: Tunnel network (network policy supported; ENI not supported) VPC network (network policy not supported; ENI supported) | |
| Terway (network policy and ENI supported) | |||
| Storage add-on type | Flexvolume | everest add-on | |
| CSI | |||
| SNAT configuration | Enabled | After a CCE cluster is created, manually purchase and configure a HUAWEI CLOUD NAT Gateway. | |
| Accessing the API server over a public network | Enabled | After a CCE cluster is created, go to the cluster details page. On the Kubectl tab page, bind an elastic IP address to the cluster. | |
| kube-proxy mode | iptables | iptables | |
| IPVS | ipvs | ||
| CPU policy | Static | Enabled | |
| None | Disabled | ||
| Ingress | nginx-ingress | By default, CCE clusters use ELB to provide layer-7 access. If you want to use Nginx to provide layer-7 access, create a CCE cluster, choose Add-ons > Add-on Marketplace, and install the nginx-ingress add-on. | |
| Monitoring add-ons | Using CloudMonitor to monitor ECS instances | By default, CCE clusters interconnect with HUAWEI CLOUD AOM. After a node is created, you can view the monitoring details in the Host Monitoring page of AOM. | |
| Using Prometheus to monitor services | Installing the prometheus add-on | ||
| Log services | Using the log service | By default, CCE clusters interconnect with HUAWEI CLOUD AOM. After a cluster is created, add log policies to containers. | |
| Installing node-problem-detectore and creating an Event Center | Installing the npd add-on | ||
| Node | OS type | CentOS | CentOS |
| Aliyun Linux | EulerOS and CentOS | ||
| Disk type | Ultra cloud disk | High I/O | |
| SSD cloud disk | Ultra-high I/O |
